Industrial Ethernet has specific advantages. Participants in a Profinet seminar hear and see benefits related to that industrial Ethernet protocol. |
Oak Brook Hills, IL – Industrial Ethernet, especially Profinet, augments a network’s return on investment (ROI), says Carl Henning, deputy director, PTO for Profibus and Profinet in North America . In the current fiscal environment, tools that speed troubleshooting, promote predictive maintenance, and decrease downtime will help companies maintain good health, he says.
Savings go beyond pulling less wire. With industrial Ethernet, and specifically Profinet:
-Troubleshooting a problem is far faster than using multimeter, decreasing downtime;
-Commissioning is faster;
-Operations uptime is improved due to predictive maintenance, which is more efficient that reactive maintenance;

Carl Henning, PTO, explains why Profinet should be considered first among Industrial Ethernet protocols. |
-Expansion is easier. With fieldbus, it’s easy to add a segment, as opposed to pulling wire through conduit; and
-More than 2,800 Profibus products from 350+ companies provide devices that easily connected to Profinet.
All this helps save money, Henning says. He made the remarks in the opening minutes of a free Profinet seminar here, which goes on to provide in-depth training on Profinet industrial Ethernet. Other industrial network seminars and webinars
