Event Technologies Inc.’s Gello soft control product was selected March 6 to be Intel Corp.’s first PC-based soft-logic solution as part of an upgrade on Intel’s plant floors.
Gello was picked for the process equipment upgrade because it met Intel’s criteria for efficiency, reliability, and ergonomics. Gello also gives Intel a highly portable, cross-platform solution that can function on units from embedded computers running DOS to Microsoft Windows NT workstations. Though many of Intel’s engineers speak English, Gello’s graphical, object-oriented software solution based on international ISA symbols was another advantage for Intel’s global users.
