Tucson, Ariz.; Ann Arbor, Mich. – Intelligent Instrumentation and Entivity announced Feb. 25 that they’ve formed a partnership to offer a fully integrated monitoring and control solution based on Intelligent Instrumentation’s EDAS CE modular Ethernet I/O systems and Entivity’s Studio control software.

Based on open architecture standards, this new solution will be unveiled at Intelligent Instrumentation’s exhibit (Booth 6427) during National Manufacturing Week, Mar. 18-21, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. EDAS CE I/O systems powered by Studio’s control/HMI software will be available in April 2002.

Entivity’s Studio product, with integrated Microsoft Visio technology for control logic and human-machine interface, combines built-in productivity analysis, enterprise connectivity and scalability across all Microsoft Windows platforms to speed up development and deployment of manufacturing systems. The two firms will work together to specify and develop interfaces that will simplify integration of Studio control software with EDAS CE I/O systems. They also plant to cooperate on promoting and supporting their new integrated solutions in new applications and markets.

EDAS CE provides 8-192 channels of isolated analog I/O, digital I/O, relay output and RS-232 data with built-in 10/100 Base T Ethernet, and an embedded CPU running the Windows CE 3.0 operating system, all in an industrial modular package. EDAS CE allows standalone, networked and distributed monitoring and control applications to be easily implemented, which provides real-time machine and process information to manufacturing execution systems.
