Intelligent motion and logic controller system

VisualMotion open control and intelligent drive system (shown at NMW 2003 in Chicago) is designed for accurate process control with capability for rapid process changes. System hardware is Rexroth PPC, a combined motion and logic controller that can operate up to 40 motion axes. Modular Microsoft Windows-based VisualMotion software runs on Rexroth PPC, tightly synchronizing up to 32 of controllers, and handling the dialog between hardware and software solutions from different manufacturers, according to the company. The system’s intelligent drives are also modular and cover a power range from 0.1-600 kW. They are linked in a SERCOS fiberoptic ring for reduced cabling, simpler installation, and improved diagnostic. Other system communication interfaces include Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus-DP, DeviceNet, Interbus, ControlNet and RS-232/485.
