Intellution launched an initiative Nov. 6 to develop and market a new generation of plant-wide process historians. “Manufacturing Historian” is the latest component in its Intellution Dynamics platform—an open, standards-based platform that allows users to easily plug in software components from Intellution and third-party developers. Manufacturing Historian allows sharing of critical process historical information with users across the enterprise faster, easier, and more cost effectively than in the past, according to Intellution. Manufacturing Historian’s scalability enables users to start small and expand to any number of process data points, from 100 to more than 100,000. The fully distributed, multi-tier open architecture enables users to connect a variety of process equipment from multiple vendors.
