Norwood, Mass. – In the first phase of its new eBusiness strategy, Intellution Inc. opened its IntelliStore for e-commerce June 7 at store.intellution.com. IntelliStore provides services, products, third-party components, and data to make purchasing easier for Intellution’s customers.
Customers will have immediate access, for example, to plug-ins that extend the functionality of Intellution Dynamics software. This will allow customers to self-prescribe solutions that fit their needs.
IntelliStore will also include four departments for purchasing OPC drives, third-party components, Software Toolbox products, and Intellution logo merchandise. Software Toolbox will provide access to ActiveX and OPC products in its section.
In other news, Intellution launched VisiconX on June 14. VisiconX is an Intellution Dynamics software tool that allows users to access real-time, plantfloor data with no programming. Companies can use it to run complex queries of any plant database and secure data for business reports in minutes. Composed of a set of ActiveX controls, VisiconX enhances the graphic intuitive power of Intellution’s WorkSpace by using Microsoft’s Active Data Object technology and Object Linking and Embedding for Databases.
Intellution also unveiled on June 7 its Plug and Solve Enabled Logo program. This can give users tested component solutions that can be plugged into existing Intellution Dynamics systems to save integration time and add functionality. Plug and Solve licenses third-party solutions designed, tested, and approved for use with Intellution Dynamics. Participating companies so far include Canary Labs, ExperTune, and Syntech Inc. The program assures users that these third-party components are built on standards, such as Microsoft’s Windows DNA for Manufacturing.
