Invensys introduces global LNG business, technology center
Singapore—To deliver technology and business solutions across the LNG value chain and help maximize asset utilization, minimize risk, and reduce costs, Invensys has opened its Global LNG Business and Technology Center.
Singapore— To deliver technology and business solutions across the LNG value chain and help maximize asset utilization, minimize risk, and reduce costs, Invensys has opened its Global LNG Business and Technology Center.
The center will work hand-in-hand with end-users and global engineering companies to deliver Invensys’ automation and information solutions to all LNG-related applications. These solutions will help improve reliability, ensure safe operation, maximize asset utilization and performance; minimize risk; and reduce costs in new and existing liquefaction plants, LNG carriers, and regasification terminals.
“The global LNG industry is clearly entering an exciting growth phase that will present LNG producers, transporters, and distributors with new opportunities and new challenges that, in some cases, will force these companies to rethink the way they do business,” says Mike Caliel, president of Invensys Process Systems. “Invensys has already made a significant technical contribution to the LNG industry. Our SimSci design tools, Foxboro control systems, and Tri-conex safety systems are well proven in global LNG facilities. Foxboro is a leader in shipboard custody transfer systems. And we’ve earned a reputation for excellence in large-scale LNG project management.”
Invensys reports that its solutions include a unique “design and diagnostic” methodology that enables the company’s LNG industry consultants to more effectively aggregate and analyze “as is” situational data, and transform it into actionable recommendations for business and process optimization. Working in conjunction with Microsoft to leverage Microsoft .NET, BizTalk Server 2000 and other Microsoft technologies, Invensys is also pioneering a new real-time information environment that seamlessly connects plant automation and information systems to business sys-tems to enable more effective collaboration and real-time decision support across the LNG enterprise.
