ISA Expo 2006: Fieldbus Foundation certification, training

Launch of certified solution provider and training programs were among the announcements made by Fieldbus Foundation at ISA Expo 2006 in Houston last month. The organization also discussed release of its Device Description Integrated Development Environment (DD-IDE) and unveiled its new Website.

FOUNDATION Certified Solution Provider (FCSP) program provides a strong incentive for automation developers to become involved with Foundation technology; the training program will establish uniform standards for related fieldbus curriculum. In other news, the foundation launched a new initiative to develop a specification for standardizing the interface of remote I/O devices into the FOUNDATION architecture.
