ISA Show: New ultrasonic level measurement system
Solid Applied Technologies (Solid AT) has expanded its family of non-contact ultrasonic level measurement products with the addition of its new SmartScan Multi-Sensor. This system uses an extensive software package to calculate multiple measurement readings for various types of tanks and open channels to provide continuous level measurements over a range up to 12 m (39 ft).
The Multi-Sensor is a 4-wire, high-voltage device incorporating a customized LCD and six SPDT relays that can each be assigned to different outputs. The unit supports three 4-20 mA outputs, RS-232/485, and HART protocol. Solid AT claims their customized display enables easy and user friendly device configuration as well as data display and toggling capabilities. Using rugged, compact sensors allows measurements in remote or hazardous locations with the control unit in a more convenient place. Sensors can withstand full immersion according to IP 67/NEMA 6 standards. The equipment needs no calibration or maintenance, so cost of ownership is reportedly low.
