Shell Nederland Raffinaderij BV recently awarded a five-year umbrella contract to Limitorque International to supply Shell with its Accutronix MX electric actuators and DDC-100 fieldbus control networks. The Limitorque equipment will be used to upgrade Shell’s Pernis complex in the Netherlands. Introduced two years ago, Accutronix MX actuators combine previous models’ long service and low operating costs with new features, such as nonintrusive calibration and diagnostics; double-sealed, watertight, and explosion-proof enclosures; and no requirement for battery backup to retain essential settings in the event of a power failure.
