Linear motion voice-coil motors

Seven models of linear motion voice-coil motors provide precision linear actuation over short distances or strokes. Motion force profile is constant and linear over the range of strokes and excitation levels. Sizes range from smallest (VM 1614) at 0.63-in. diameter by 0.55-in. long to the largest (VM 8054) at 3.15 in. diameter by 2.13-in. long. VM 1614 develops a near-constant 2.7 lb of force over a 0.155-in. stroke at 100% duty cycle operation. VM 8054 furnishes a near-constant 9.5 lb of force over a 0.7-in. stroke at 100% duty cycle operation. Very low coil winding inductance and high-energy, rare-earth permanent magnet combine to make voice-coil actuator cycle times as low as 1 ms. Gee Plus Inc.
