OPB732 Series non-contact infrared switches from TT electronics Optek Technology are intended for long distance sensing for machine automation safety switches and feature a reflective distance exceeding three inches, depending on circuitry and reflective material.

Munich, Germany —OPB732 Series non-contact infrared switch from TT electronics Optek Technology is capable of operation in industrial environments. Intended to provide design engineers with long-distance sensing for machine automation safety switches, the device features a reflective distance exceeding 3 in., depending on circuitry and reflective material.

Opaque housing reduces the sensor’s ambient light sensitivity. In addition, a window protects active optoelectronic components to enable operation in dusty environments. Device is available with custom electrical, wire and cabling, and connectors so that it can be adapted to specific applications, including those involving door closures, end-of-travel indicators, short-distance safety curtains, and product positioning systems.

Series IR LED features an 850 mm wavelength and a power dissipation of 100 mW. Maximum forward current is 50 mA and maximum forward voltage is 1.8 B (If =20 mA).
Reverse dc voltages is 3 V, with reverse current of 100s of 24-in., 26 AWG ROHS wires. Phototransistor can be configured as a common collector or common emitter device.
