Mathsoft and National Instruments integrate software products

By Control Engineering Staff October 13, 2005

Mathsoft , a provider of calculation management software, has integrated its Mathcad software with National Instruments’ LabView graphical development environment to provide advanced joint calculation and measurement solutions. According to Mathsoft, the integration will create an end-to-end design, measurement, analysis, and reporting environment that will help engineers better execute their product development work.

Integration of the software products will allow engineers to use Mathcad calculation software to trigger data capture and measurement in LabView, which can then automatically export values back to Mathcad for further calculation, processing, or reporting. Users can share LabView results with Mathcad from a drop-down menu item in the LabView user interface.

LabView is a graphical development environment for creating flexible and scalable test, control, and design applications. Mathcad is a design environment that enables engineers to simultaneously explore, calculate, and document mathematical formulas and calculations during the design phase of a product. Mathcad is designed for experimenting with design parameters and analyzing measurement data.
