MBT unveils its 2009 Innovation Insight Award winners
Manufacturing Business Technology, the leading source of information for manufacturing executives seeking to use information technology for a competitive advantage, has announced the winners of its 2009 Innovation Insight Awards competition.
• Celsis Rapid Detection, a Chicago-based company that developed a product that promises to save makers of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and home care products millions of dollars by identifying the source of potential contaminants almost immediately after product testing uncovers their presence;
• PTC, a product life-cycle management software vendor that harnessed Microsoft SharePoint Portal technology to create an easy, low-cost method of sharing product design data across supply chains; and
• Rolls-Royce Energy Systems, a maker of oil and gas and power generation equipment, that customized a packaged software application to support an online product configuration and sales quoting process that’s on track to produce a return on investment (ROI) of $4.5 million over the next three years.
