Mini-Coriolis flowmeters expand flow range
A solution for when you need high-accuracy mass readings in a very low flow range.
If you have to deal with very low flow rates, you know it can be difficult to get high accuracy mass flow readings. Bronkhorst Cori-Tech B.V. has scaled down Coriolis technology, preserving performance found in larger units.
Bronkhorst has released a new model in its Cori-Flow series of compact Coriolis mass flowmeters and controllers for accurate measurement and control of very low flow rates. The full-scale capacity of these units has been extended from 1 to 30 kg/hour (approximately 1 to 30 liters/hour of water). Bronkhorst says these instruments are suitable for both liquid and gas, and can provide fast response time and high accuracy, regardless of changing pressure, temperature, density, conductivity, and viscosity characteristics. Moreover, the units claim an effective turndown of 1000:1, permitting the user to re-range the device to specific requirements.
The instruments have IP65 weatherproof housings and are available with approval for use in hazardous areas (ATEX Cat. 3, Zone 2). Units can be outfitted with integrated PID control and close-coupled control valves or pumps, for very compact Coriolis mass flow control loops.
Mini Cori-Flow flowmeters offer standard analog and RS-232 communication, optional fieldbus interfaces, and additional functions such as alarms, totalizer, and batch dosing. Secondary digital outputs include fluid temperature and density.
Typical applications include research laboratories, pilot plants, semiconductor and fuel cell processing, food and pharmaceutical industries, analytical installations, micro-reactors, surface technology, and anywhere requiring direct mass flow measurement, independent of fluid properties.
