Copperhill Technologies started a VisualSizer Group through Google Groups in order to increase interaction with all engineers using any version of the company’s VisualSizer generic (manufacturer independent) servomotor sizing & selection application for motion control engineers. The software includes databases containing 6000+ motor/drive/amplifier combinations from various motor manufacturers. In addition it provides a database editing tool to add, delete and modify motor data as new models are introduced and old ones are discontinued. The company has also created a number of manufacturer-specific versions of VisualSizer, including VisualSizer-SureServo and others.Wilfried Voss, president and owner of Copperhill Technologies Corporation as well as the developer of VisualSizer-Professional created the site hoping users will share suggestions, questions, etc. “I will try to address them as soon as possible,” he says. “The feedback from many engineers in the motion control industry has helped to improve VisualSizer over the years and we would like to continue the dialog.” —Edited by C.G.
