Hubertus, Wis. — Perform several tests on a loop and ExperTune’s new Loop Summary feature will provide a table of the tuning parameters, process model, model confidence, and relative response time (RRT) of the loop, and highlight the average and most conservative tuning values. Conservative tuning values are useful in loops with varying conditions such as temperature loops that heat quicker than they cool. The RRT calculation is unique to ExperTune; it’s a measure of the time the loop takes to correct a disturbance and is used to decouple interacting loops. For example, faster loops should be tuned to have an RRT at least 3 times smaller than slower loops. Saving the Loop Summary Table provides a snap-shot signature of the process useful in troubleshooting and analysis to determine changes in process dynamics caused by equipment plugging, fouling, and wear. www.expertune.com
