National Instruments’ Lookout automation software was recently added to Zetron Inc.’s (Redmond, Wa.) wireless supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. Zetron is selling Lookout with its UltraC wireless SCADA and telemetry system, which is used to monitor and control oil and gas operations, water and wastewater plants, farms, and other geographically widespread operations. “It’s easy to set up basic monitoring or controlling of sites via the radio or other wireless SCADA systems with Lookout,” says Bo Ray, Zetron’s sales vp. “These systems are becoming increasingly important to businesses and cities that have shrinking budgets.”
