Two ac motor drive manufacturers chose to introduce or demonstrate major expansion of their offerings during the running of the 15th National Manufacturing Week (NMW) of shows in Chicago (March 7-10, 2005). At NMW, Baldor Electric Co . highlighted its new H2 Drives family of adjustable-speed drives that focus on “reliability, ease of use, and high performance.” At an offsite technology presentation during NMW, Siemens Energy & Automation Inc . introduced to North America its new and evolving line of ac motor drive technology named Sinamics. More details about these ac drive developments are provided in separate articles in this E-Newsletter.
Besides making its H2 Drives family the focal point on the show floor, Baldor hosted a press reception on March 7 to demonstrate these new drives “close up and personal” and introduce members of the H2 drive development team (see photo). Siemens E&A’s offsite presentation of Simanics drives took place on March 7 and 8, headed by Aubert Martin, president and CEO of the company. Product managers and drive specialists presented individual members of the Sinamics drive family.
