TMEIC GE has been chosen to supply the complete electrical and automation controls system for a new Pickle Line Tandem Cold Mill (PLTCM) at Anyang Iron and Steel Company in Henan Province, China.

TMEIC GE’s scope of supply for the project includes all drives (both main and auxiliary) and automation control system including level 1, level 2, mathematical models and main gauges for quality control.

The project will reportedly require seven (7) TMdrive-70 Medium Voltage electric drives and ninety-one (91) TMdrive-10e2 Low Voltage electric drives. The TMdrive-10e2 drives will be manufactured at TMEIC’s joint venture facility in Guangzhou, China.

This project will be the second complete PLTCM installation for TMEIC GE in China, and the first in which the mechanical suppliers are Chinese companies. The tandem cold mill portion will be manufactured by China First Heavy Industries of Dalian, China and the pickle line by WISDRI of Wuhan, China.

This new PLTCM is the third project TMEIC GE will complete at Anyang. TMEIC GE’s history at Anyang includes the original Hot Strip Mill installation in 2007, as well as two subsequent expansion projects on the HSM. Additionally, TMEIC GE supplied drives and the automation system for Anyang’s Steckel Mill in 2005.
