New product: Single-loop electronic temperature/process controllers

By Control Engineering Staff May 2, 2007

The next generation of Allen-Bradley 900-TC16 and 900-TC8 single-loop process controllers reportedly outperform standard controllers by combining thermocouple and RTD sensing capability with either on/off or analog outputs into a single, highly versatile package. Moreover, for applications that use other types of sensors, the same unit is available with conventional analog inputs.

Auto-tuning PID control technology with analog outputs increases system efficiency and smooths out control efforts. The result is tighter temperature regulation with fewer swings for greater control efficiency and lower energy use. Even novice users can set up operating parameters for heating and cooling applications.

Set-up, configuration, and operating functions can be done via an onboard keypad and display, or one cable can connect it to a PC using free 900BuilderLite software. RS485 connectivity supports communication with a larger system for control and monitoring.
