New roles, new initiatives at Phoenix Contact USA
Harrisburg, Pa. - Phoenix Contact Inc., manufacturer of specialized electrical/electronic interface products for industry and automation, has announced that Donald Springer has been named president and ceo for the company's new production initiative in the United States.
Harrisburg, Pa. – Phoenix Contact Inc., manufacturer of specialized electrical/electronic interface products for industry and automation, has announced that Donald Springer has been named president and ceo for the company’s new production initiative in the United States. Establishing a production competency in the Americas is part of Phoenix Contact’s global expansion strategies which includes a new plant in China and expanded facilities in Germany. Commenting on his new position, Mr. Springer stated, ‘I’m very pleased to accept this new role within the company, which has been so supportive of our efforts in the US.’
Mr. Springer opened Phoenix Contact’s initial operation in the United States in 1981, and has guided Phoenix Contact USA since that time. In his new role, Mr. Springer will be joined by approximately fifty other personnel from the Phoenix Contact Harrisburg facility.
Jack Nehlig, who joins Phoenix Contact after 19 years with Honeywell Inc., most recently as vp and general manager of the Sensing & Controls Division, will assume Mr. Springer’s former role as president of Phoenix Contact Inc.
According to Mr. Springer, ‘We are delighted to have found an individual with Jack’s background and experience, which is a perfect fit with our markets and products. Jack is extremely familiar with our distribution and sales channels and is intimately familiar with our customer base. At the same time, his background fits very comfortably with our expanded emphasis and penetration into the automation industry.’
Mr. Nehlig comments that, ‘Phoenix Contact’s rich history, rapid growth and new developments were very instrumental in my decision process in accepting this position. To be associated with a company whose product expertise encompasses not only the electrical/electronic industries, but also the automation field, is very exciting for me personally. The changes take effect immediately.
