New simulation software version extends capabilities for process industry users
Upgraded Mimic v3.2.0 boosts model accuracy, platform connectivity.
Mynah Technologies has released its Mimic v3.2.0 simulation software for operator training and automation system testing. This release is said to include enhancements that provide connectivity to new automation system platforms, and more accurate dynamic process models for less model development time.
Two new simulated I/O (SIO) drivers are available in the Mimic v3.2.0 release:
Emerson’s DeltaV SIS SimulatePro provides a non-intrusive simulation interface for DeltaV SIS system testing and operator training.
Ethernet/IP protocol provides a non-intrusive simulation interface for system testing and operator training in process plants using Rockwell PLCs.
The new version also includes new advanced modeling functions included in the Thermo, Flash, and Stream property function package. These are dynamic simulation functions providing first-principle calculation of process stream properties, and handling complicated flash calculations.
The company says Mimic Simulation Software is a dynamic process and I/O simulation solution designed for automation system testing and operator training. It is scalable from small to large projects, and designed to be implemented by the end user so that developing, modifying, and maintaining dynamic simulation is easy and cost-effective. The platform works with many off-line process control systems, including Emerson Process Management DeltaV, Schneider Electric Unity and Quantum platforms, Previse ABB Simulator, Rockwell PLCs, and other automation systems that support OPC, Open Modbus TCP/IP, or Ethernet/IP protocols. Users of earlier versions who are current can upgrade to v3.2.0 for no additional charge.
