The new iServer is built on one of the fastest, highly featured microprocessor found in any device of this kind, Newport says. Some features include: 10/100 Ethernet, dynamic Web server, full IP stack, Modbus protocol support, email notifications, SNMP traps, programmable I/Os, firmware upgrade over Ethernet, and authentication and access restrictions for security.

Three versions are:

1. Embedded MicroServer for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to network enable their products.

2. The Industrial MicroServer mounts on a standard DIN rail.

3. The wall-mount MicroServer for most commercial and IT applications.
