Xpress DR+ industrial device server from Lantronix Inc. cascades multiple devices from one network connection and connects enterprise systems to non-networked factory floor devices.

Irvine, CA —Xpress DR+ industrial device server from Lantronix Inc. is designed to simplify and reduce the cost of connecting equipment to the network. Next-generation device intended for automation markets includes such features as SwitchPort+ to minimize the need for hubs and cabling and make it possible to connect previously out-of-reach machines, the company says.A more powerful core processing platform and ruggedized specifications is said to provide the reliability to connect PLCs, robots, process control equipment, temperature monitoring systems, or other equipment over the network or the Internet. Tool provides remote management of automation and assembly/packaging equipment at manufacturing sites, automated distribution centers, and refineries, among other applications, giving access and control of any equipment with a serial port.SwitchPort+ joins Ethernet switch technology with Lantronix’ device networking technology to extend the network often without additional infrastructure. Server supports two serial ports and two 10/100 Ethernet ports in a rugged DIN-rail case. It offers wide operating temperature range (-40 to 70 °C) and Ethernet isolation to provide needed safeguards for harsh environments. It supports industrial protocols, such as Modbus TCP, Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU and DR1, and is FM-approved for hazardous locations, Class 1, Div. 2.
