East Providence, RI— To increase accuracy in bonding, gasketing and filling operations, EFD Inc. introduced on Sept. 29 its Ultra TT automation series, which is a tabletop system that combines dispensing accuracy with programming ease to allow manufacturers to enhance production capacity, increase product assembly speeds, and respond faster to changing product demand. Ultra TT features integrated positioning to increase accuracy; Palm handheld controls for faster, more precise programming; simple reconfiguration for dispensing any liquid product; and a price comparable to conventional systems. EFD is a division of Nordson Corp. (Westlake, OH).
The company adds that Ultra TT series represents the ultimate in XYZ automation systems, which allow movement on three axes—length, width and height, through two distinct features. First, a Palm handheld can be used to quickly and easily program bonding, gasketing and filling operations. Intuitive graphic user interface (GUI) software controls positioning and dispensing parameters, and makes setup much faster than standard XYZ systems that use teaching pendants with menu-driven software. Simplified programming also allows Ultra TT systems to be reconfigured quickly for different products.
In addition, unlike standard tabletop XYZ systems, EFD’s Ultra TT platforms represent true integrated dispensing technology. Conventional XYZ automation systems are ‘hybrids,’ that is, off-the-shelf positioning units with dispensing equipment added on. By contrast, Ultra TT platforms are dispensing systems with integrated positioning capabilities, deriving optimum performance from both components. The systems also incorporate closed-loop servo controls and powerful drive motors for fast, precise positioning of the dispensing tip.
ilable for each valve style and syringe size, which further shortens setup time by eliminating the need to fabricate custom hardware.
