ObjectAutomation Inc. (OA) joined with Moore Industries (Sepulveda, Calif.) on Sept. 15 to bring object-based automation solutions to manufacturing via hardware/software integration and OA’s Object-Based Control solution. It also teamed with Think & Do Software Inc. (Ann Arbor, Mich.) on Sept. 14 to deliver co-developed object-based solutions to industrial automation. Moore will integrate its hardware products with OA’s industrial automation software, OAenterprise, to create solutions for industrial control system end-users. OAenterprise provides a common development platform on which Moore is integrating its own interface instruments to provide a plug-and-play experience for end-users. Integration of OAenterprise with Moore Industries’ SPA Site-Programmable Alarm will be the first integrated product between Moore Industries and OA. This type of integration is expected to decrease installation and loop check out costs for system users and also demonstrate OAenterprises’ flexible, open architecture.
Similarly, Think & Do customers will now have the availability of a control solution that can be installed and networked across several nodes. Think & Do’s customers may also choose to model their system to an MES or ERP system by including OA’s tools and toolkits to their control solution. “Think & Do Software also has an aggressive Microsoft Windows CE development plan that highly complements OA’s objectives for CE-based solutions,” says Pete Durand, OA’s midwest business manager.
