PackExpo 2005: Vision sensor designed for harsh use

Las Vegas, NV; Natick, MA —In-Sight-5400S stainless-steel vision sensor from Cognex is an industrial grade device for tough environments. Introduced last week at the PackExpo show in Las Vegas, the sensor meets IEC specifications for shock and vibrations and achieves an IP68/NEMA 6P rating that stands up to chemical washdown and submersion. It is intended for food, beverage, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical applications.
The product can be used to sort objects; detect proper fill levels; inspect labels, caps, and safety seals; verify label text, date, and lot codes; read linear and 2-D codes; and count and verify products in cartons. In-Sight 5400S includes a library of vision software, built-in Ethernet communications, and In-Sight Explorer software with advanced tools to simplify applications development and network administration. PatMax for feature and object location is available as an option.
In-Sight 5400S will be available in November.
