Panta Electronics takes over Philips Weighing

In a landmark deal, Philips Weighing was recently acquired by Panta Electronics and will now trade under a new name—GWT Global Weighing Technologies GmbH. “Global Weighing is a new name in the industry, but the company behind the brand predates most other companies in the business. Our current position as a recognized global leader and the excellence built up over the past four decades [of trading as Phillips Weighing] will continue under the new brand name,” says David McLemore, Global Weighing’s ceo. “We shall maintain the same high standards of product quality and customer service, while keeping our focus on those application areas where we are renowned.” Global Weighing supplies components such as load cells, weighing indicators, and amplifiers, as well as complete solutions for industry. It employs over 400 people in development, production, and marketing. It also has sales outlets in 50 countries.
