Patented encoder for brush, brushless dc motors

Pittman 35-mm ROSE (reflective optical sensing) incremental-encoder for brush-commutated and brushless dc is newly patented. Device achieves multiple line counts using only one module instead of requiring discrete modules for individual line-count applications. Encoder is configured to fit a variety of motor products available from most manufacturers. It features a PC-board-based design and multi-tracked code discs to enable a wide range of resolutions (192-512 cpr) using minimal parts.
