Sick's PowerProx photoelectric sensor series uses time-of-flight laser scanning technology and features four variants that can be used in automotive and packaging applications. Courtesy: SickSick’s PowerProx photoelectric sensor series is designed to detect objects over long sensing ranges. The PowerProx uses time-of-flight laser scanning technology with eye-safe lasers to detect fast-moving objects, small and flat objects, and dark or shiny objects at sensing ranges between 5 cm and 3.8 m. In addition, up to eight switching points can be defined via IO-Link. PowerProx sensors are constructed with Vistal housing for use in extreme environmental conditions. The compact size of PowerProx sensor housing also provides flexibility in terms of machine design. The PowerProx features four variants—distance, speed, precision and small—that can be used in a variety of applications such as occupied bay and clearance detection, rapid counting in the packaging industry, and quality control in the automotive and parts supplier industries.
