Honeywell (NYSE:HON) Process Solutions’ (HPS) update of their Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) Orion, features Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) capabilities. The upgrades are designed to help industrial plants optimize automation project execution, reduce loop commissioning time, minimize operational risk, and protect intellectual investments. Experion PKS Orion employs an expanded portfolio of solutions designed for improving project execution and commissioning, modernizing control system infrastructure, and expanding standards compliance and interoperability. Experion PKS Orion’s enhancements include automated device commissioning, integration of electrical systems with process control and multivariable advanced process control (APC). It also features support of all wireless standards, including WirelessHart and has an IIoT-ready programmable logic controller (PLC) solution. It also comes with automated third-party skid integration via supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Other Experion PKS Orion release features include remote modular cabinets, safety critical alarms, wireless access and identity management, Profibus data collection, and expanded on-process migration solutions.
