Upgrades: The Siemens Simotics FD motor series and Energy Analytics services aim to expand areas where Siemens motors can be used and savings for energy use in industrial applications.

By Siemens January 8, 2014

Siemens announced it is expanding its motors and energy analytics services.

In line with the company’s new Simotics FD motor series, Siemens unveiled a new type of motor concept in the output range from 200 kW to more than 1,600 kW. The motor series features a new design with internal cooling fins, which allows for the implementation of different types of air and water cooling operations. The motor series is particularly well-suited in applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, extruders, conveying systems, and cranes.

Energy consumption transparency is a decisive factor when it comes to improving the efficiency of industrial plants. The Siemens’ new Energy Analytics service provides industrial customers with a scalable and flexible system of energy-data management services. Siemens experts will provide support for companies seeking to systematically meter and evaluate their energy data, using this as the basis for identifying and leveraging energy-saving potential.

Depending on the service package selected, the Energy Analytics services offered range from simple energy reports to detailed analysis. The service packages available are tailored to companies of different sizes and sectors of industry.
