Anybus Communicator for Profinet from HMS Industrial Networks is an intelligent protocol converter that connects automation devices with a serial interface to Profinet. It allows devices without a built-in Profinet interface to be connected to a Profinet network. Typical serial devices include barcode readers, RFID scanners, weigh scales, frequency inverters, and motor starters. Compact device for standard DIN-rail mounting operates as a Profinet I/O device on the Profinet network. The serial interface between the Communicator and the field device supports RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 signal levels at baud rates up to 57 kbit/s. The serial interface of the product supports Modbus, but can also be adapted to manufacturer-specific protocols using a Microsoft Windows-based configuration program. Communicator contains an integrated Webserver for settings and data monitoring.
