Emerson Process Management and OSIsoft , performance management software developer, announced availability of the PI Protocol Converter (PPC), which continues connectivity of OSIsoft PI System and client applications to Emerson’s DeltaV digital-automation system, a key component of the company’s PlantWeb digital plant architecture.

PPC gives DeltaV owners options to integrate PI System and DeltaV environments, ranging from a single PI DataLink connected to a ProfessionalPlus station in a small plant, to a full PI Enterprise Server integrated into the larger DeltaV system implementations.

The new integration technology enables process manufacturers to use PI clients directly with the DeltaV system and extends historian connectivity to continue the long-standing alliance of Emerson and OSIsoft. End-user systems with DeltaV v7.4.1 andlater include an Emerson-developed DeltaV Continuous Historian. The new PI Protocol Converter enables OSIsoft client options including PI DataLink, PI ProcessBook, PI ActiveView, and RtPortal to connect directly to the DeltaV Continuous Historian. PPC also supports the PI-to-PI Interface to provide connectivity to the OSIsoft PI System.

PPC, including technical support, is provided at no charge to OSIsoft and DeltaV licensees,. Emerson also will enable the required DeltaV Continuous Historian connections at no charge.
