Sentry pulsation dampeners remove virtually all pumping-system shock to enhance performance and reliability of fluid flow in process applications. They use compressed gas separated by a bladder from the process fluid like a shock absorber. During the pump’s discharge stroke, fluid pressure displaces the bladder, compressing trapped gas. During the next cycle, fluid flow stops momentarily causing expansion of the compressed gas, forcing the bladder to push accumulated fluid back into the discharge line, filling the void created by the cycle shift and dampening pulsa-tion up to 99%. Bodies and bladders are available in a full range of chemically resistant materials for most positive displacement pumps with discharge sizes from 1/8– 6 in.
