Ottawa, Ontario, Canada— QNX Software Systems reports that designers of multi-layer and Gigabit Ethernet-enabled enterprise switches can now take advantage of the carrier-grade reliability and scalability of its Neutrino real-time operating system (RTOS). QNX announced Oct. 15 its support for Broadcom’s StrataXGS switch products, as well as availability of an optimized board-support package (BSP) for the StrataXGS switch architecture. This support is intended to help create stackable, highly integrated network switches, blades and routing equip-ment.
QNX’s BSP for StrataXGS includes source code, documentation and several runtime components that allow developers to get their designs up and running quickly using the QNX’s Neutrino RTOS. The BSP can be used on Windows, Solaris, or QNX Neutrino development hosts.
‘The QNX Neutrino RTOS is an excellent complement to the StrataXGS chip family,’ says Martin Lund, senior director of Broadcom’s Enterprise Switching business line. ‘QNX Neutrino’s optimized support for Broadcom’s Gigabit-enabled development platforms provides a choice to customers who need to get their networking products to market faster and at lower development cost.’
y shorten their development cycle.’
