C&D Technologies’ QUS40-096 provides high power in a small package.

C&D Technologies introduced a new isolated dc/dc converter that provides a cost and space saving solution for Intermediate Bus Architecture applications in computer and telecommunications equipment. The QUS40-096 has an unregulated output, and a fixed conversion ratio of 5:1 that is maintained between the input and output voltages.

The module is housed in a compact, industry standard, quarter-brick footprint package.
Operating from a typical input voltage of 48 V dc, the QUS40-096 has an output voltage set-point of 9.6 V dc. It is able to deliver a maximum output power of 300 W at 38 V dc input, +55olated versions.

The QUS40-096 features a primary side remote enable capability (positive or negative triggered), plus over-current and over-temperature protection, both with automatic restart. The versatile module also is suitable for parallel operation, allowing it to satisfy the requirements of higher-power applications.

Overall dimensions of the QUS40-096 are 58.4 x 36.8 x 12.2 mm. The module has UL94V-0 flammability rating and a demonstrated MTBF of 2 million hours. Operating temperature range is -40 to +85
