Quick benefits: Lawson says pre-configured, industry-specific software is driving fast ROI
Lawson Software says two candy manufacturers are among the companies that have realized a fast return-on-investment by adopting the year-old QuickStep versions of the Lawson ERP system. Lawson introduced its first QuickStep offering in November 2006. The company now has five such solutions catering to food & beverage producers, apparel manufacturers, distribution companies, hospitals, and asset-reliant companies.

These solutions are pre-configured with industry-specific functionality. The goal was to help manufacturers in these industries reduce implementation times by up to 50 percent, which in turn should minimize project costs and deliver faster time-to-value.
Monkhill Confectionery , a U.K.-based maker of sweets; and NetCacao , a chocolate manufacturer based in France, say the QuickStep Food and Beverage solution has performed as advertised.
Monkhill Confectionery is a division of Cadbury Schweppes . “The Lawson QuickStep solution was chosen for three reasons,” says Simon Barber, financial director for Monkhill Confectionery:
“A business can take that pre-configured solution and slot it into its business and it can work from day one. Having done several ERP implementations in the past 10 years, I believe Lawson’s has been more cost-effective and faster than any of the previous implementations.”
NetCacao implemented Lawson QuickStep Food and Beverage in mid-2006 because its legacy business system could no longer support its growing operations. To achieve its aggressive production goals, NetCacao needed to quickly implement an enterprise software solution to help it more efficiently track and manage high-volume production workflows while interfacing with the company’s machine control systems.
The Lawson QuickStep solutions combine industry-specific content with built-in business best practices and the Lawson Stepwise implementation methodology. Lawson officials say pre-configuring approximately 70 percent
rs to achieve business results faster while gaining the rich functionality and flexibility they need long-term.”
