Rockwell Automation and Omron Corp. announced Oct. 11 a six-part effort to further their six-month-old strategic alliance on factory automation. They plan to: jointly develop PLCs and networking products in large, small, and micron-level sizes; allow Omron to resell Rockwell software and networking products to Omron customers in Japan; agree on mutual product supply to strengthen and complement product lines; extend their partnership internationally, especially in China and Asia; jointly manage and share corporate resources using an electronic data interchange system; and cooperatively promote e-manufacturing strategies.
