Rockwell debuts controllers with triple the ladder logic, double the function blocks

Milwaukee, WI—To give users expanded control functions, small footprint, and low cost, Rockwell Automation says its new Allen-Bradley Pico Series B nano-controllers have faster processor speeds and expanded memory, resulting in three times more ladder logic capacity and twice the function blocks as previously available.

Milwaukee, WI— To give users expanded control functions, small footprint, and low cost, Rockwell Automation says its new Allen-Bradley Pico Series B nano-controllers have faster processor speeds and expanded memory, resulting in three times more ladder logic capacity and twice the function blocks as previously available. The new line of controllers also features back-wards-compatible programming, improved display functionality and additional power supply op-tions. These Pico Series B controllers are fully compatible with existing Pico controllers and will be available in March 2005.

“With increased memory capacity and speed, the new Series B Pico controllers allow manufacturers to expand the performance of existing applications,” says Sy Stevens, Rockwell’s Pico product marketing manager “Manufacturers can do all this while retaining the features they like about Pico controllers — the small footprint, ease-of-use and low cost.”

Pico Series B controllers include an increased retentive memory range, enabling the controllers to be used in applications that require up to 128 lines of ladder logic. The controllers also have twice the number of function blocks, additional coil functions, and enhanced clock and seasonal time configurations. The controllers use the new PicoSoft 6.0 software program, which is free and available for download at www.ab.com/go/picosoft6 . The software is backward compatible with Series A Pico controllers.
