Schneider Electric announced June 1 that it will combine its worldwide Industrial Control, Automation, and developing Motion Activity business units into one division by Sept. 1. The new Industrial Web Automation and Control division will have sales of approximately $3.3 billion, roughly one-third of all Schneider’s sales. The firm’s electrical businesses will remain in other business units. The reorganization also recognizes the expansion of the motion control segment, which Schneider has been growing through such acquisitions as Germany-based SIG-Positec, formerly Berger Lahr.
