Sensicast wireless targets temperature, energy, PM
Sensicast Systems plans to focus its wireless offerings for measure temperature measurement, energy, and predictive maintenance (rotating equipment condition) applications, according to ARC Advisory group. The new Sensicast corporate strategy, called the “Sensicast Wireless Advantage,” will develop complete reference designs in collaboration with a set of sensor companies. These designs will remove customized engineering as a barrier to wireless measurement, making it a more attractive option for applications of these sensors.
In other news, Sensicast has been committing resources to the wireless HART working group and the ISA SP100 standards activities, noting that its better to gain benefits of low-cost wireless measurement today than wait for completion of standards.
ARC says the challenge for Sensicast (and others) is to overcome end-user’s uncertainty about performance of a wireless system in an industrial environment.
