Servo drive mounted on motor

IndraDriveMi next generation drive system from Rexroth includes the drive, motion control, and logic control mounted on the motor. The motor casing surface acts as the heat sink, reducing the total build space by more than half compared to traditional servo drives. Package also reportedly reduces wiring costs. One cable carries power and SERCOS (SErial Realtime COmmunications System) digital signals. Savings increase when multiple systems are connected in series, because one cable comes from the cabinet. Each additional axis is daisy-chained to the preceding one with pre-fabricated connections. Connections and drive are rated to IP65.
