Siemens secures contracts from Baker Petrolite

Alpharetta, GA- Siemens Energy & Automation Inc. announced Oct. 8 that it has received orders from the Baker Petrolite (BPC) business unit of Baker Hughes Inc. (Houston, TX) to provide automation, electrical infrastructure and services at facilities in California and Oklahoma.

BPC is a world leader in providing chemical technology solutions to the global hydrocarbon recovery and processing industries. BPC’s customers are in the refining, steel, utilities, agriculture, adhesives, plastics processing, paints and coatings, and oilfield chemicals businesses.

Siemens will provide process control, instrumentation and electrical switchgear for Baker Petrolite’s first Taft manufacturing plant, which is being built near Bakersfield, CA. Included with Siemens’ APACS+ DCS are specific analyzers that make up a combination continuous process automation and safety systems covering 1,000 distributed I/O points. Baker Petrolite’s plant in Sand Springs, OK, will receive an APACS+ process automation system to manage batch processing at the plant.
