Siemens’ SITOP Modular 5-10 A power supplies handle global voltages

Alpharetta, GA— Siemens Energy & Automation reports that OEMs can now offer users a single two-phase, 5-10 amp power supply that can accommodate voltages in 193 countries. The firms that adds its new SITOP Modular 24 V power supply is the first 5- and 10-amp unit designed for most common single phase and three-phase networks worldwide. DIN rail mountable and compact, SITOP power supplies are also available in 20- and 40-amp versions and may be used for network voltages from 100 to 480 V ac.

SITOP also gives OEMs the flexibility to handle sophisticated power supply requirements. These include a signaling feature to monitor output voltage; operating readiness in conjunction with a PLC; and a backup module to compensate for voltage dips.

Kai-Uwe Bronzel, SITOP product manager for Siemens’ U.S. Micro Systems business, says the new power supply unit reduces OEMs’ costs. “Now OEMs can go for 5- and 10-amp applications with one unit that can handle almost all voltage requirements worldwide.”

SITOP’s standard features include two short-circuit shut down choices and three operational status indicators. A power boost function delivers up to 300% of the rated output current to handle high inrush loads. It also offers a load sharing function; adjustable output voltage up to 28.8 V dc; and a robust IP 20 metal housing.
