Macro Sensors has been designated an approved vendor by Siemens Westinghouse for LVDT (linear variable differential transducer) position sensors on Westinghouse steam turbines. The devices are used for position measurement on a variety of control valves, including governor, throttle, reheat/stop, and interceptor types. Macro Sensors manufactures LVDT-based linear and rotary sensors, gauging probes, support electronics, and related instrumentation.
The company’s line of LVDT linear position sensors come in configurations from 2 to 20 in. long with outputs to satisfy requirements of current and legacy turbine installations. Its exact-replacement LVDTs are form, fit, function equivalents with the same electrical and mechanical specifications as stock Westinghouse units. The company also provides a full array of non-standard and customer-designed units for OEMs and system integrators; most products are available from stock.
