Single-cable BiSS Line interface by Posital 

Posital’s single-cable BiSS Line interface for its motor feedback kit encoders now has full implementation of 2- and 4-wire versions. The combination is designed to provide motor manufacturers, machine builders, and system integrators a way of building accurate, reliable absolute position feedback into devices such as servomotors, stepper motors and robotic joints. With single-cable connections, power and encoder data are carried on a single 2 or 4-wire cable. The one-cable approach offers significant benefits for smaller motors where the placement of two connectors has always been awkward because of the lack of space. Moreover, reducing the number of cables and connectors simplifies installation while reducing susceptibility to connector failures.
