Magnetostrictive liquid-level C-Series sensor from MTS Systems Corp. is designed for use in OEM and other level applications where a float-based measurement can be used.

Magnetostrictive liquid-level C-Series sensor from MTS Systems Corp. is based on patented Temposonics technology. Designed for use in OEM and other level applications where a float-based measurement can be used, the device is small enough to fit inside a 36 x 23-mm (1.4 x 0.91-in.) cylindrical package. Application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) yield a sensor optimized for high-volume production.

Modular architecture is built on a base core sensor to which additional application-specific features can be added, depending on the use. Standardized IP67-rated packaging can be provided when robust environmental protection is required. Sensor has 0-5 V dc or PWM output and can be powered with a standard 5-V power supply. A second electronics board can be added to configure the sensor to operate using 12- or 24-V dc power and provide protection circuitry for EMI immunity.
