Davis, Calif. – SoftIntegration Inc. , developer of scripting technology for ubiquitous computing, announced the release April 3 of Ch Data Acquisition Toolkit for NI-DAQ. Ch is an embeddable C interpreter. It supports ISO 1990 C standard (C90), major features in C99, C++ classes, POSIX, X/Motif, OpenGL, ODBC, GTK+, CGI, 2D/3D graphical plotting, numerical computing, and shell programming. Ch Data Acquisition (DAQ) Toolkit integrates with National Instruments’ NI-DAQ, which is a set of C APIs used to control all of the NI plug-in data acquisition boards for analog I/O, SCXI signal conditioning, and RTSI multi-board synchronization.

With Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ, all NI-DAQ C programs can run without compiling and linking cycles. C programs can configure and communicate with all NI multifunction data acquisition products. Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ can be used to increase efficiency for rapid application development and open architecture integration of mechatronic systems. It can especially shorten the time to develop solutions with real-time data acquisition for engineers without extensive VC++ programming experience. It is an ideal environment for research and teaching related to real-time data acquisition in C. Along with the Ch CGI toolkit, Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ can be used to deploy Web-based data acquisition for adaptive intelligent mechatronic systems for remote monitoring, control and autonomous motion.

‘With Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ, Ch developers can make measurements with absolute accuracy using industry leading E Series data acquisition boards,’ said Keith Winkeler, sr. group product manager for Data Acquisition at NI. ‘This integration of the Ch scripting language environment with NI-DAQ confirms NI’s and SoftIntegration’s common commitment to provide simple solutions to increase the productivity of engineers and scientists worldwide.’

‘C/C++ developers have been very impressed with the incredible simplicity of the Ch language environment, and how much more productive they can be when they can use a very high-level language environment. This allows them to avoid lengthy compile/link/execute/debug cycles for application development.,’said Dr. Dawn Cheng, general manager at SoftIntegration. ‘Now engineers and scientist can perform tasks related to real-time data acquisition with higher levels of productivity with Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ.’

Ch DAQ Toolkit for NI-DAQ is available for Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP. Ch Standard Edition is free for academic and non-profit organizations.

SoftIntegration provides infrastructure software and services for rapid application development and deployment, scientific numerical computing, embedded scripting, and Web-based software integration. Ch is an embeddable C interpreter.
